UTAR, through its Division of Human Resource (DHR) at the Sungai Long Campus, organised the UTAR Staff Wellness Screening Day on 30 October 2025. The event was held in collaboration with Sungai Long Specialist Hospital.
The programme, conducted under the PERKESO Health Screening Program, aimed to cultivate health awareness among UTAR staff and promote preventive healthcare practices. It also provided staff aged 40 to 59 years with the opportunity to undergo free on-the-spot health screenings and receive professional medical consultations.
In addition to the complimentary PERKESO Health Screening Program, Sungai Long Specialist Hospital offered special promotional health screening packages to UTAR staff.
Eligible staff under the PERKESO Health Screening Program were entitled to a complimentary on-site screening. They were also given the option to include an add-on Cancer Marker Test (Female & Male) at a discounted rate. The test covered comprehensive markers for liver, breast, pancreatic, ovarian, colon, and testes cancers.
Meanwhile, staff who were not eligible for the PERKESO Health Screening Program were able to enjoy exclusive on-site promotional health screening packages, which included essential tests such as Full Blood Count, Liver and Renal Function Tests, Lipid Studies, Fasting Glucose, and Urine FEME.
The event reflected DHR’s continuous effort to foster a culture of health and well-being within the University community. Through collaborations with reputable healthcare partners such as Sungai Long Specialist Hospital, UTAR remains committed to enhancing the physical and mental welfare of its staff members.
