Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB) Wall Mural launched

UTAR marked another collaborative milestone with Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB) through the launching of the PAMB Wall Mural on 24 September 2025 at UTAR Kampar Campus. The wall mural is located at the lecture complex of the Teh Hong Piow Faculty of Business and Finance (THP FBF).

The launch was officiated by UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat, PAMB Head of Agency Recruitment & Digital Business Mr Ong Wee Kuan, PAMB Head of Northern 2 Ms Michelle Yong, and THP FBF Dean Assoc Prof Dr Au Yong Hui Nee. The event was witnessed by PAMB staff and UTAR staff, and students.


Prof Dato’ Ewe expressing gratitude for PAMB’s partnership

Prof Dato’ Ewe said, “Today’s launching ceremony reflects the university’s strong collaboration with industry partners, specifically Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad. Since sealing our partnership through a memorandum of understanding in 2024, our collaboration has grown steadily, bringing value to our students and the university community. On this note, the University is thankful for their active involvement, covering areas such as grooming, resume writing, interview preparation, and job market outlook, to equip our students with essential skills and confidence before embarking on their internships.”

Mr Ong expressed his agreement, and said, “PAMB is always happy to collaborate with academia, because we too are learning and progressing. This highlights that knowledge is important and we are grateful for the opportunities to share our insights and experiences, enhance skills, and bring exposure to the students, which we believe will help them in their future careers.”

Following the launch was a workshop titled Beyond Grades: The Art of Winning in Workforce. PAMB Head of Agency Learning & Development Mr Loke Shee Yan spoke on Career Readiness in Action: Tools for A Competitive Edge, drawing from his experience in the field. He emphasised the importance of soft skills in the workforce.

Meanwhile, PAMB Assistant Director of Recruitment Strategy Mr Yap Wai Teck delivered a talk on cultivating an entrepreneurial spirit to fuel careers and gain a competitive advantage. He highlighted that adaptability, initiative, and problem-solving often outweighs traditional markers of success. At the end of the session, he advised participants to cultivate creativity, innovation, resilience, and value creation, skills essential to thrive in the industry and their respective careers.

Among the guests was Industrial Advisor and PAMB Regional Development Manager Mr Wong Kar Khan. He shared, “As a proud UTAR alumnus, it is meaningful to return to campus and contribute to a lasting symbol like the wall mural, which represents collaboration, growth, and inspiration for future generations. Wearing my hat as a PAMB staff member, I am honoured to be part of this initiative that not only strengthens the bond between industry and academia, but also creates a tangible mark of our company’s commitment to education and youth development. In my role as an industrial advisor, I look forward to continuously adding value to students – by sharing real-world industry insights, preparing them for future careers, and bridging the gap between academic knowledge and professional practice.”
