UTAR Sungai Long Campus organised a STEAM Workshop for students from Hin Hua Independent School, Klang, as part of its ongoing community outreach efforts. The programme was a collaborative initiative among UTAR STEAM Outreach, the Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES), the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) at Sungai Long Campus, and the Division of Programme Promotion (DPP).

The workshop was designed to nurture creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among students by integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) into engaging learning activities. The initiative reflected UTAR’s commitment to providing holistic learning experiences that combine academic knowledge with practical applications.

One of the highlights was the Mathematics Maze: Escape Room Challenge for Problem-Solving Wizards, conducted by LKC FES academic Dr Pang Sook Theng. The session challenged students to apply logical reasoning and teamwork to solve mathematical puzzles in an escape-room style setting. Equally enriching was the Colourful Minds Therapeutic Watercolour Painting Workshop led by CFS academic Puan Suriati binti Mohd Jaafar, where students explored their artistic talents and expressed their creativity through hands-on painting activities.
