CFS engages SMJK Shing Chung students in eye-opening talk on bullying

In a bid to raise awareness of bullying, an issue that has become increasingly concerning among young people, the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) of UTAR Kampar Campus conducted a meaningful talk titled What is Bullying? on 24 September 2025 at SMJK Shing Chung, reaching more than 650 Form 1 to Form 3 students.

The talk was delivered by CFS Kampar Campus academic Ms Kow Li Fen, who introduced the various types of bullying, shared real-life cases, and discussed the underlying reasons behind such behaviour. She also highlighted practical ways to handle bullying effectively. An interactive Q&A session added energy to the programme, with students actively engaging and sharing their thoughts.

The talk left a strong impression on the students, including Jaishree Ganesh Rao from Form 3 Beta, who said, “I really enjoyed the talk. The speaker delivered the content clearly, and I now understand the different types of bullying.” Alice Leong Boe Yee from Form 3 Beta reflected, “The speaker explained bullying in a way that was easy to understand. The real cases of bullying made me realise how serious the issue is.”
