SMJK Chung Ling High School’s Science Carnival 2025
UTAR, through its STEAM Outreach initiative, collaborated with the Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology (FEGT) and the Division of Programme Promotion (DPP) to conduct the Arduino Workshop at SMJK Chung Ling on 10 September 2025.
The workshop was organised in conjunction with the school’s Science Carnival 2025. The workshop was led by FEGT academics Ts Tan Yee Chyan and Ts Dr Nuraidayani binti Effendy, who guided students in exploring the fundamentals of Arduino technology. Through hands-on activities, participants were introduced to the basics of programming and electronics, sparking curiosity and creativity in problem-solving with technology.
In addition, DPP Assistant Manager Ms Chai Li Xin delivered an insightful introduction to UTAR, highlighting the university’s programmes and the opportunities available for students aspiring to pursue higher education in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).
The event was well received, with students showing great enthusiasm and interest in learning about Arduino applications. Their active participation reflected the importance of nurturing innovation and technical skills among young learners, aligning with UTAR’s mission to promote STEAM education at the grassroots level.
The collaboration between UTAR and SMJK Chung Ling serves as a stepping stone in inspiring future innovators, ensuring that students are better prepared for the challenges of a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
