Wellness meets fun through community outreach programme

The Centre for Healthy Minds and Wellbeing (CHMW), in collaboration with the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj), organised the Community Outreach Programme 2025 on 3 August 2025.

Held under the theme Wellness Meets Fun, the programme brought together students, staff, and community members to promote both mental and physical well-being through creative booths, exhibitions, health screenings, and fitness activities. The event aimed to foster self-discovery, lifelong learning, and early awareness of personal well-being while creating a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.

The day began with the Eco Chill Walk at Eco Hill Park, Semenyih, where participants took part in a mindful walk surrounded by nature. The activity encouraged relaxation, mindfulness, and appreciation of the natural environment, setting a refreshing and energising tone for the rest of the day’s programme.

This collaborative initiative between UTAR and MPKj aimed to cultivate a caring, healthy, and knowledgeable community. The Community Outreach Programme encouraged active participation from the University, local authorities, and members of the public to strengthen awareness of health, mental well-being, and community values.

The programme featured a wide range of engaging activities such as health screenings, mental well-being talks, expressive arts sessions, and STEM-based activities for school students and local residents. The STEM activities were designed to spark interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through fun and interactive experiences.

Special appreciation was extended to all programme partners, collaborators, and volunteers for their strong support and contributions. The initiative reflected UTAR’s ongoing commitment to nurturing a healthier and more compassionate society through collaboration and community engagement.
