The event continued with a keynote session titled InsurTech 101: Bridging Tech and Coverage, delivered by Ms Loh. Her talk highlighted how technology is reshaping the insurance industry to become smarter, faster and more customer-focused. She explained how wearables, telematics, and genetic data are driving personalised premiums and better risk assessments. The audience also learned about the digital shift in insurance, including smart contracts, cloud billing and automated compliance systems. A standout example highlighted was the use of blockchain in Lemonade’s Crypto Climate Coalition, which enables instant, automated crop insurance payouts to farmers in Kenya.
Ms Loh also demonstrated how API integration is improving transparency by enabling policy aggregation and price comparisons across insurers. She concluded her talk with three emerging trends set to shape the future of insurtech.
