Marketing campaigns are the epitome of storytelling, turning creativity into influence that resonates with audiences. At the forefront, everything may seem effortless, yet behind the scenes lies a world where countless strategies and innovations intertwine, carefully orchestrating every detail to craft impact that lasts, all balanced on what often feels like organised chaos.

Organised by the Teh Hong Piow Faculty of Business and Finance (THP FBF), the art of creative storytelling was brought to the campus community through a talk at UTAR Kampar Campus on 24 July 2025. Double Dose Marketing Sdn Bhd introduced students to the latest practices and tools in digital marketing. The 143 participants, comprising UTAR staff and students, also gained valuable insights into real-world industry expectations and environments.
Double Dose Marketing Sdn Bhd is a creative agency renowned for its bold, story-driven campaigns that seamlessly integrate content, strategy, and on-ground activation. The talk, titled Behind the Campaign: The Intersection of Storytelling, Strategy, and Chaos, was delivered by the agency’s Marketing Director, Ms Clover Quah.

During the talk, Ms Clover Quah shared strategies for creating impactful marketing initiatives and transforming strategic briefs into compelling campaigns that resonate with audiences and deliver tangible results. She highlighted her experience in leading marketing efforts across various industries, emphasising the importance of crafting narratives that go beyond capturing attention to forging lasting connections. Drawing on her expertise in campaign thinking and brand storytelling, she elucidated how creativity and strategic insight can be combined to elevate every project.
Highlighting the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on modern tools and campaign workflows, Ms Quah also explained the various roles within a marketing agency, from daily operations and timelines to how teams respond to real briefs—helping participants understand how a simple idea can evolve into a full campaign across various platforms.
“Strategy alone isn’t enough,” she remarked, while highlighting the equal significance of paid power. In this end, she advised future marketers to plan on-ground activations that effectively carry over into the digital space.
Beyond conventional roles, Ms Clover Quah also enlightened the participants on the latest AI trends in marketing, reflecting on various tools such as ChatGPT, Meta AI, and Canva. At the same time, she shed lights on the innovative roles of AI in digital marketing, including copywriting, ideation, and audience targeting.
Also present at the talk session were Double Dose Marketing Sdn Bhd Founder and Digital Strategist Mr Jason Lim Chin Yeow, the talk’s Organising Chairperson Dr Yip Yen San, THP FBF academics Ms Ng Shwu Shing, Prof Dr Lee Voon Hsien, Dr Mah Pei Yew, along with Double Dose Marketing Sdn Bhd delegates, UTAR staff and students.
The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where participants posed questions that led to practical advice, campaign walk-throughs, and behind-the-scenes insights into agency life. The session left participants with a deeper appreciation of how storytelling, strategy, and technology converge to shape modern marketing.
Armed with fresh perspectives and practical insights, students walked away inspired to push boundaries, harness innovation, and craft campaigns that resonate far beyond the surface.
