UTAR, in collaboration with BE International, organised the BE X UTAR Run 2025 at Bukit Jalil Recreational Park, Kuala Lumpur, bringing together the university community and the public under the theme Run for Health, Run for Impact. The event reflected UTAR’s continued commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle, community engagement, and meaningful social contribution.

The run attracted approximately 800 participants, comprising UTAR students and staff, BE agents, and members of the public. Despite intermittent rainfall on the event day, the programme proceeded smoothly and was well received, with participants displaying strong enthusiasm, positive energy, and a commendable spirit of togetherness throughout the event.

The event was made possible through the generous support of BE International, which contributed RM100,000 towards the organisation of the run. The remaining balance from the funds raised will be channelled towards supporting UTAR’s Sports Exchange Programme and the UTAR Hospital Fund, further strengthening initiatives related to youth development, education, and healthcare.

In addition to the run, participants were able to enjoy a variety of activities, including a Zumba session, lucky draws, and a donation handover ceremony, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for participants of all ages. All net proceeds from the event were directed to the UTAR General Development Fund and UTAR Hospital, supporting quality medical care and education-related initiatives.

The ceremony was officiated by UTAR Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations, Prof Dr Choong Chee Keong, who represented UTAR. Prof Choong flagged off the run and received the mock cheques on behalf of the University, symbolising the strong partnership and shared values between UTAR and BE.

Beyond its support for UTAR, BE International also demonstrated its commitment to community relief by contributing a total of RM200,000 towards disaster relief efforts in Malaysia. This included RM100,000 to the Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merits Society Malaysia to assist flood relief efforts in Perak and Kelantan, and RM100,000 to Tabung Bencana NSTP–Media Prima to support flood victims in Perlis, Kedah, and Perak.

With a total contribution of RM300,000, the BE X UTAR Run 2025 reflected BE International’s core pillars of health and wellness, education and youth, community relief, and green environment, while reinforcing UTAR’s mission of nurturing holistic development and strengthening partnerships that create lasting positive impact for society.

UTAR also extends its sincere appreciation to all sponsors whose generous support contributed significantly to the success of the BE X UTAR Run 2025. BE International provided a contribution of RM100,000 in support of the organisation of the event and UTAR’s development initiatives. Nestlé supported the event through the distribution of complimentary MILO beverages to all participants, while Hanabi Academy sponsored cookies and snacks for participants. Vida World further enhanced the event experience by sponsoring Vida beverages, including Vida Lemon and Minty Lime. The strong support and collaboration from all sponsors played an important role in ensuring the smooth implementation and overall success of the event.
