The Department of International Student Services (DISS) at UTAR Sungai Long Campus hosted a Farewell Party and Visa Briefing on 4 December 2025, honouring the achievements of final-year international students as they approach their graduation.
The event served as both a festive celebration and an essential informational session to prepare students for their transition from academic life to their next professional or personal chapter.
The programme commenced with registration and a warm welcome session. DISS Sungai Long Campus Head, Mr Foo Wai Wai, delivered the opening remarks, congratulating the students on their resilience and academic success. This was followed by a vibrant group photo session, capturing the diverse community of international scholars.
To ensure students remain connected to their alma mater, Department of Alumni Relations and Placement (DARP) Head Ms Tan Cheng Wah introduced the various resources available to alumni. She emphasised the importance of staying engaged with the UTAR network to foster professional growth and lifelong friendships.
Recognising the complexities of international residency, DISS conducted an important briefing during lunch regarding visa and immigration matters. Key topics included student pass cancellation and graduate pass application.
The afternoon concluded with a touching sharing session, where students reflected on their time in Malaysia, followed by a networking period that allowed peers and staff to exchange well-wishes.
As these students prepare to embark on their global journeys, UTAR remains committed to supporting its international community through every stage of their academic and professional transitions.
