UTAR successfully organised the UTAR Career Day 2026 at its Sungai Long Campus on 12 March 2026, attracting strong participation from students, graduates and industry representatives. The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 550 students and more than 60 employers, creating a dynamic environment for career exploration and professional networking. The event provided students with valuable opportunities to explore career pathways, connect with recruiters and gain insights into the professional world.

The event was jointly organised by the UTAR Department of Alumni Relations and Placement and the UTAR MBOT Student Chapter, in partnership with gradmalaysia, reflecting UTAR’s continued commitment to enhancing graduate employability and strengthening collaboration between academia and industry. It was also made possible with the generous support of sponsors, namely Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Berhad, SOMO Sdn Bhd, Malaysian Association of Company Secretaries (MACS), QL Foods Sdn Bhd and DIY Printing Supply Sdn Bhd.

Throughout the day, the multipurpose hall was filled with activities as students visited numerous company booths to learn about internship placements, management trainee programmes and full-time job opportunities. Employers representing sectors such as technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing, finance, banking, professional services, healthcare, retail, education and consumer goods engaged actively with students, sharing insights about industry expectations and career prospects.

One of the highlights of the event was the on-the-spot interview sessions, where several participating companies conducted immediate interviews with potential candidates. This allowed students to experience real recruitment processes while showcasing their skills and qualifications directly to potential employers.

In addition to the recruitment booths, the event also featured a series of career talks and employer sharing sessions under the “Meet the Employers” segment, offering students valuable industry insights. Among the sessions held was Smart Money Talks, delivered by Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Kajang Branch Relationship Advisor Ms Lettah Karunakaran, which introduced students to financial literacy and retirement planning. Another session included the AutoCount Career Talk by AutoCount Senior Channel Sales Manager Mr Christopher Liew, where participants learned about career opportunities within the accounting and business software industry.

Students also attended the session titled Go Global, Grow as a Future Leader: 2026 Crystal Associate Programme, delivered by representatives from Crystal International Group Limited, including Assistant General Manager for Learning and People Development Mr Peter Pun, and Manager for People Development Mr Raymond Ng. During the session, students gained insights into global career pathways and leadership development opportunities offered through the company’s associate programme.

Beyond recruitment and knowledge-sharing sessions, the Career Day also featured engaging activities that enhanced the overall experience. Participants received door gifts and goodie bags, while lucky draw sessions with attractive prizes were held throughout the day, adding excitement and encouraging active participation.

I think this Career Day is very beneficial because students pursue university studies in order to build their careers using the knowledge and qualifications they gain. So, career fairs like this are very crucial for students.”
