	A team consisting of two alumni and one student won third prize at the 
	Practice Competition – Cloud Track category of Huawei ICT Competition 
	2022-2023 Global Final, held from 23 to 27 May 2023 in Shenzhen, China.
	
	The team consisted of Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC 
	FES) Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Mechatronics Engineering graduate Ho 
	Wei Liang, LKC FES Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Electronics student Tay 
	Bee Sim, and Faculty of Information and Communication Technology Bachelor of 
	Computer Science (Honours) graduate Yong Hong Long.They were led by LKC FES 
	academic Ir Ts Dr Tham Mau Luen.
	
	The Practice Competition saw the participation of various educational 
	institutions from around the world and included a total of three tracks, 
	namely Network, Cloud and Computing Tracks. Combining with Innovation and 
	Industry competitions, it attracted more 
	than 120,000 students from over 2,000 colleges and universities across 74 
	countries and regions. A total of 146 teams from 36 countries reached the 
	global final.
	
	The competition aimed to examine the theoretical knowledge and hands-on ICT 
	skills of the participants, as well as their ability to work in a team. The 
	participants were ranked according to their scores for lab exams.
	
	The team expressed, “We would like to thank Huawei for sponsoring the trip 
	to Shenzhen, including the visa, accommodation and airfare. Also, we would 
	like to thank Astee Chan for her guidance and arrangement starting from the 
	national round to the Asia Pacific and global final rounds.”

	Women in Tech award under the Cloud Track category 
	at Huawei ICT Competition Asia Pacific 2022-2023 Regional Final.
	
	The Huawei ICT Competition is intended for students in Huawei ICT academies 
	and those in higher education institutions that are willing to join the ICT 
	Academy worldwide. Through this competition, Huawei aims to provide students 
	with a platform to compete healthily and exchange ideas, thus enhancing 
	their ICT knowledge and practical skills as well as increasing their ability 
	to innovate by using new technologies and platforms. Since the first edition 
	in 2015, the Huawei ICT Competition’s influence has only kept growing.
