A group of delegates from Brunsfield TusStar Sdn Bhd visited
UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 4 September
2020. The delegates were TusStar Malaysia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wil
Chan Ru Yue, TusStar Malaysia Chief Operating Officer (COO) Elly Li, TusStar
Malaysia Manager Ravenna Chen and Zhongyu Education Technology Co. Ltd CEO
Tao Ran.
Welcoming them were UTAR President Ir Prof Dr Ewe Hong Tat, Division of
Community and International Networking Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn,
Division of Programme Promotion Director Lee Choy Fong, Centre for Extension
Education Director Ir Dr Lim Jee Hock, Unovate Centre Head Dr Lee Sheng
Chyan, Department of Soft Skills Competency of Sungai Long Campus Head Fook
Oi Yee, Department of Alumni Relations and Placement Head Lim Swea Jen,
Division of Community and International Networking Deputy Director Dr Chen,
I-Chi and staff.
The meeting commenced with the presentation of UTAR
corporate video to enhance the delegates’ understanding of the overall
development of the University. Delivering
his remarks, Prof Ewe first welcomed all the delegates to UTAR and expressed
his hope to create a strong bond with
Brunsfield TusStar Sdn Bhd for future expansion of collaboration,
“Today’s discussion with
Brunsfield TusStar Sdn Bhd is like meeting up with old friends again.
UTAR and Tus-Holdings Co., Ltd. had signed a memorandum of understanding
(MoU) on
TusPark since 2017. I believe there are still plenty of areas in which
we can work together and I look forward to discussing this further.”
Wil Chan introduced her company’s background and its
current developments. She expressed her willingness to create a stronger
link with UTAR and hoped to explore more areas of collaboration to achieve
mutual benefits. “We are grateful and honoured to be here today. Hope that
through this discussion, we can strengthen the tie between UTAR and
Brunsfield TusStar Sdn Bhd which could benefit both staff and
students,” she said.
During
the discussion
An in-depth discussion was carried out between both
parties which promoted the exchange of information. Among the possible areas
of collaboration discussed were dream course, employment or internship
cooperation base, web or online courses and international cooperation.
Brunsfield TusStar Sdn Bhd is a collaboration between local property developer Brunsfield International Group and China-based Tus-Holdings Co Ltd. It is an incubator that was set up to be part of the internet ecosystem, acting as an enabler and providing services such as planning consultancy, industry acceleration, pitching platforms and creating a bridge for Malaysian entrepreneurs to access China’s markets, and vice versa.
