UTAR Sungai Long Campus held a physical orientation
programme for its new intake of Foundation and undergraduate students
recently. The event, which was organised by the Department of Student
Affairs (DSA) and the Student Representative Council (SRC) of Sungai Long
Campus, started on 5 June 2022 for the undergraduate students and on 18 June
2022 for the Foundation students. Meanwhile, a whole host of activities took
place throughout the entire time to help ease the transition of the freshmen
as they learn to settle into UTAR’s education system and values. The
orientation programme officially ended on 7 July 2022.
On the first day of the orientation programme, the
new students were required to complete and collect their orientation pack,
which consisted of the UTAR t-shirt, document folder and goodies at UTAR
Multipurpose Hall. The students also attended Faculty Day which served to
introduce them to their respective academic programmes, course structures,
expected schedules and important academic announcements.

The second day of the orientation saw several
activities, including talks and briefings on the library, student affairs
and scholarships, and financial aid, held at UTAR Multipurpose Hall. There
was also an ice-breaking and grouping session for the freshmen to introduce
themselves and make new friends. Meanwhile, the undergraduate students had
the opportunity to take part in a campus hunt, where they solved puzzles to
get clues, and win prizes.
