Sustainable Recycling System For Eco-shopping: Community Awareness And Action

Eco-shopping in the form of online shopping is common nowadays, especially in this pandemic. Everyone tried to avoid going to crowded places and instead opted for online shopping to get their daily supplies, including food ordering using Grab Food services. Unfortunately, online shopping has also led to large amounts of plastic waste as a result from the plastic packaging disposed by online customers. Petrochemical industry is important because it is involved in plastic packaging and car frames. The degree of sustainability of petrochemical products depends on the awareness and action of users. The most sustainable choice is to recycle the used plastics, because recycling can sustain the plastic resource, and minimise negative environmental impacts through a systematic and integrated management. Indirectly, the petrochemical industry will also become more sustainable through the practice of recycling. Enlightening us more on this is invited speaker Mr Au Yong Tien Sing from iCYCLE Environmental Technology Limited (China), who will share the possible practices in handling packaging waste generated from eco-shopping, as well as introduce a sustainable recycling system to handle the packaging waste effectively. His sharing is not limited to plastic waste management but also other types of solid wastes. His sharing will be insightful and useful for us to contribute more effectively in protecting our environment.
